AWS Direct Connect Setup Guide
Implementation guide for AWS Direct Connect via FPT Telecom International partner model.
Partner model
FTI connects to cloud providers through partner hubs for SLA assurance and optimal routing.
Implementation overview
Deploy AWS Direct Connect via partner model: FTI provides the hosted connection, the customer accepts it in AWS, then creates a hosted VIF to connect to VPC or public services.
Official docs: Create hosted connection, Accept hosted connection, Configure hosted VIF.
Direct connectivity from FPT infrastructure
- AWS: direct connectivity in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia.
- OCI: direct connectivity in Singapore.
- GCP: direct connectivity in Singapore.
- Other clouds/regions: via partner hubs (PCCW, Megaport, Equinix, Epsilon).
Prerequisites
- AWS account with Direct Connect permissions.
- Network parameters: VLAN, IP ranges, ASN/BGP, VIF type.
- Required bandwidth, AWS region, and redundancy plan.
Implementation steps
- FTI creates the hosted connection and provides LOA/CFA.
- Customer accepts the hosted connection in AWS Console.
- Create the Virtual Interface (VIF) and configure BGP.
- Run SLA tests and complete acceptance.
Acceptance checklist
- Connection and VIF status are available.
- BGP session up; routing and throughput meet SLA.
- Failover verified if redundant paths are used.
Deliverables
- Accepted connection details and configuration summary.
- Test/acceptance report.
- 24/7 support contacts.
